Cuisiniers Cares

At Cuisiniers, we are always concerned about the local community and finding ways that we can help.  Chef Jamie McFadden recently co-founded The Peas Foundation (www.peasfoundation.org) to generate grants for fresh fruits and vegetables to be provided to local homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and other charitable organizations.  Short for “Produce Eating Alternatives Simply”, The PEAS Foundation recently held their first fundraising event, “Food and Art for Thought” on May 20th at the Gallery at Interlachen in Winter Park, FL.  The event included food art from some of the nation’s top artists and photographers, along with an array of delicious food and libations.  In conjunction with the Second Harvest Food Bank, PEAS’ supporters were able to raise $3,200 which was donated to the Backpack Program, a program providing nutritious, fresh foods to schoolchildren in need.  Cuisiniers and Jamie would like to thank all the supporters and congratulate everyone for their efforts!

Chef Jamie McFadden was also a participant at the 8th Annual Veggie U Food & Wine Celebration, on July 17th in Ohio.  Veggie U is a program designed to fight childhood obesity through developmentof educational curriculum presented to 4th grade classrooms nationwide.  The Celebration acts as an annual fundraiser for the group, bringing in 30 top chefs from around the nation to share their culinary expertise and passion for the organization.  For more information, visit www.veggieufoodandwine.com.

Cuisiniers hopes that programs like Veggie U and The PEAS Foundation will not only educate others about the challenges our society faces, but motivate them to take an active role in giving back to the communities they are involved in.

Help others and entertain deliciously!
